Transunion demands payment for FREE yearly credit report

I called Transunion to request my FREE credit record for this year but was told that because I subscribed for one of their products three years ago and my subscription has not been active since then, I do not qualify for a FREE credit report . This does not make any sense since the NCR clearly states that one is entitled to one FREE credit report per year. But Transunion wants to make me pay for it.
