Is Transunion Really Untouchable?

I signed up with Transunion Credit Bureau last December. I paid for the premium package, called True Identity- pricing R799 at the time. In May, this year, Nedbank Vehicle Finance (MFC) submitted incorrect April data to credit bureaus, probably because of lock-down. My Nedbank account was therefore listed as having been extended- reflecting "E" on Transunion. Furthermore, the subsequent months of May and June were reported as unpaid, reflecting "NU", which stands for No Update. Because of the "E" alone, my score dropped by 39 points.

I opened a dispute in the beginning of July concerning the misinformation. My creditor gave them a direct instruction to update my April, May and June statuses on the 10th and 15th of July, the 18th of August and 15th of September. They had only updated April and June by the 28th of August. I called them almost everyday from late August to mid September, asking them to update my account. Each time I called, they told me the account, particularly month of May, was updated and would start reflecting correct information the next day.

I got tired after speaking to almost each one of them, from Transunion Dispute Department, including Megan- the white lady who **** to me on call many times. I therefore took the matter up with Credit Ombudsman. They referred me to National Credit Regulator (NCR), where they lodged a dispute for me roundabout the 21st of September. Brother Tshepo of NCR was helping me all along, and then joined sister Mary in October. Needless to say, Transunion played games with NCR too.

Just recently, Mr Phiri lodged a complaint against Transunion for not honoring their obligation of publishing correct information about consumers. I hope something will come out of this. Even if the matter get resolved in my favor, I would still want something to be done about the arrogance of Transunion. Why would updating an account have to drag this long? How would a whole credit bureau disadvantage consumers and not take responsibility? By the way, why does an extension on the term period reduce the credit score on Transunion as though the consumer failed to honor their financial obligation? Is Transunion really untouchable?!

This is what you told me almost everyday for over SIXTY DAYS. I just hope this escalation will yield results unlike the many escalations that were made before.
