Being ****med into purchasing report?
I received an email from Transunion yesterday afternoon stating the following: TransUnion Alert: a credit bureau enquiry was done on you. Visit [URL Removed] to check your report or call ***. As my handbag was ****** on Friday evening as a result of a smash and grab, I immediately called the number stated above and I was told that I need to purchase a new report in order to view who did the enquiry on my name and that it would cost R80. As all my cards were also ****** I agreed that the amount of R80 be deducted on my account. When the new credit report arrived, it stated that the last check on my name was done on 02/03/2015 and there was nothing for yesterday (14.04.2015). I called the number again and they referred me to the queries department as that was the sales department. I spoke to Busiswe who then told me that no new checks are showing up and that the email might have been sent to me in error as I was not the first person who complained. I should call back tomorrow to check. When I called the number today I cannot get through due to high call volumes. If I only purchased this report due to false information, I should be refunded. Please contact me.
