Alleged Animal Cruelty - No Response from Transnet

It is unfortunate that we have been left with no other option but to write a review on this platform.

On Friday, 10 March 2017, the NSPCA issued correspondence to the Transnet CEO as well as a Warning in terms of the Animals Protection Act to a Ms Mirriam Tenyane, Transnet's Compliance Officer regarding the alleged cat poisoning that had been commissioned at the various Transnet sites.

Numerous emails and phonecalls resulted in the receipt of pitiful correspondence referring us to a Ms Zodwa Mashishi who is the person apparently responsible for handling this matter. Again, numerous emails and phonecalls have resulted in no feedback.

Given the blatant promotion of animal cruelty by Transnet and Ms Tenyane that has been highlighted in our correspondence, it is surprising that Transnet did not take the opportunity of resolution and rather left it up to the NSPCA to continually follow up on the matter and still we have receieved no feedback.

It begs the question as to whether this matter is being handled as seriously as it should be.
