Refund never received as promised after gearbox could not be fixed

Extremely disappointing and unprofessional experience with TGD (Transmission, Gearbox & Diff Centre, Brackenfell).

I took my vehicle to them in early March 2025. The written quote stated the work would take 2 weeks, yet they kept my car for 2 months with continuous delays and excuses.

On 7 May, they confirmed they could not repair the issue and that I would be refunded R25,000. Despite months of follow-ups and repeated promises of payment, the refund has still not been made. This has now been almost a year.

The owner is friendly and pleasant in conversation — until it comes to honouring commitments. Unfortunately, he has not delivered on anything promised, and my experience shows he is not a man of his word.

As a woman, I would strongly caution other women against trusting his work ethic or relying on his assurances.

I will update this review if the refund is ever processed.
