Taking forever to pay out retrenchment benefits

I was retrenched In December and app**** for retrenchment benefits early January. Filled in all requested forms and submitted 3 months bank statements. End of January I had to submit bank statements again and had to pay my monthly vehicle monthly repayments to MFC before being repayed by Traficc on 8 February. End of February the same thing. Monthly repayment, bank statements but still not being paid out. 1. Does not make sense to me why I have to pay the insurance company for the same thing they are insuring me for (in this case being retrenched) 2. Where do I get money from to pay MFC considering that I am unemployed and I paid insurance for specifically that reason. 3. Why would it take Traficc more than a week to assess something that happened in December and they must have approved as they paid out end January and nothing changed from my side as I am still retrenched and unemployed. What else are they checking for?
