Shortfall Cover : They paid a fraction of what they actually was supposed to pay

To Whom it may concern

I purchased a car in 2015 and my vehicle was written-off on the 1st of December 2017. All this time I have been paying my premium with Traficc. By the time my comprehensive insurance paid off the market value of the car I was left with R230 000 shortfall. I claimed the TOP-UP at traficc.

Traficc approved my claim but however told me they are only paying about R86 000. I asked why they said R64 000 was for the arrears amount in the account (It wasnt arrears but a restructure, however the 64k is irrelevant and do not mind paying it.) and R86 000 was for the "extras" that was in the car.

Basically what they are saying is because I ensured the car on market value they are not liable forthe "extras" in the car. But these were not "extras", they were actually factory fitted extras that I did not request nor can do anything about. They came with the new car. Some of the "extras" includes mats, headlights, sunroof, etc. So was i supposed to drive the car without theses "extras" ?

I require traficc to do good by me as i have when I was paying the instalments. What they are doing is wrong. Since when did a topup insurer care about extras ? Please pay the money I deserve. As this will be reported further to the ombudsman and the courts. I will not rest until this is resolved, no doubt.
