Incorrect Tickets against my License

I went to renew my drivers license on 15 April 2016 at the Xavier Traffic department and was told that I have too many traffic fines against my name. I was then given a print out of my tickets and a Toyota Corolla came up on the list and it had tickets worth a couple of thousands in rands. My worry is how did this happen? how did someone using a car I have never driven manage to get so many tickets in my name? I was referred to AARTO at the Selby traffic station and the man helping me at there department says because these tickets were \handed\" to the driver they cant do much to assist me. I must admit that I do have tickets against my own car which I am planning to pay off. Please may someone let me know how I remove this Toyota Corolla against my name that I can start paying my own fines. Should the registration number of the Toyota be needed please note that I do have it. Its very disappointing to see that someone could just be linked to my ID number and accumulate so many tickets. Do the traffic cops even check the photo on the license before issuing tickets? if it was a once off incident I would understand but so many times and so many thousands of rands?? Please HELP!"
