Abuse of Power at Hillstar Traffic Department

On Monday, 11 January 2021. I had the displeasure of having to accompany my daughter to make an application for a Learner's Licence Test.

We checked the Website and noted that the facility closes at 15h30. We arrived around 15h00 and my daughter was the fifth person in the queue. At 15h20 the five people in the queue were informed that the facility was closing and that they would have to return on another day. I enquired as to who the most senior person on duty was and informed Ms Nqegwa that the time was 15h20. She proceeded to inform me (in an aggressive manner) that she could close whenever she chooses. I proceeded to remind her that it was a government facility and that the times as displayed on the Website should be adhered to. That it was accountable and respectable leadership that ensures this. She was not budging on her decision. I reported the matter to the City of Cape Town and await a response. *******ion and abuse of power is rife in our country and I will not be part of the silent majority who remains quiet to ******* and abusive "public officials" I escalated my complaint to Mr Heathcliff Thomas and await at very least an apology from Ms Nqegwa.
