Fish Hoek Traffic department

I am 75 and have recently become Disabled and struggle to walk.

I decided to arrange a disabled disc to enable me to park in handicapped bays.

I have always used the above office as they used to be very good.Sadly no longer

It started when I went to the above at about 14.30 about a month ago and was told that they take no forms after 14.00 despite their opening hours being until 15:30pm. ,I was also told that the form that was filled in by my Neurologist was an old form and it was not acceptable.

I then got my GP to fill in and sign another and I went back to the centre (with some difficulty). To my dismay they sent me away again as would not accept the form claiming that he (the GP) had altered the 8 on my mobile no. This despite them not complaining about the 8 in my ID no. which was exactly the same and looked the same as on my mobile no.

I then went to my Neurologist once more and asked her to fill in a new form. I returned today (again walking with difficulty) only to be told that they will not accept the form as they have run out of Disabled disks and that I must return in the new year. They took my number and said they will call me when they get discs.

Taking account the unsympathetic, shocking and rather fishy service that I have been receiving at Fish Hoek I very much doubt I will ever hear from them again.

I am struggling to walk and really need the disc ,what should I do?

I would mention that the only excellent service I still received at this department was from the security officers (private firm) who have always understood my situation.

I tried to record a review on their web site but that has not been possible.
