Unhappy Service by Managing Agent

Trafalgar manages the building in which I recently purchased a property. As a member of the body corporate we have no say in any matter. Whenever a query or contravention of a conduct rule by a trustee is brought to their attention no action is taken against them. However, I’m constantly being accused of various contraventions. I’m not even allowed to give my side of the story. When I prove my innocence and request that the email be retracted I then get ignored and nothing gets done. I queried why an employee was living on the property zoned as utility as per the registered sectional plan without paying rent with her husband and child. I pointed out that we as owners should not be responsible for the financial burden due to the high costs of living. In his response to me he said that sectional title is not for the poor. I take it that as a person of color am to poor to live on Marriott Rd. A contravention of the town planning bylaws by an owner was brought to his attention by a municipal official today. Here is his arrogant response, “ Hi Nomdumiso, On second thought don’t bother to reply. If the small awning is not compliant your offices should just do their job and issue non-compliance against the owner in question. This matter is not something I need to discuss or resolve.”

My rights as an owner has been violated by both Trafalgar and the trustees of our complex. What Trafalgar fails to understand is that part of the high levies I pay goes towards this same staff’s salary. Every few months a new portfolio manager is appointed to manage our complex. This adds to our frustration as the outstanding matters are not followed up on. I have 4 cases sitting with CSOS to make an adjudication order. I’ve received one order in my favor recently. It is not being adhered to and I will be applying for an enforcement order next.
