Trafalgar overcharging on municipal accounts

If you are with Trafalgar properties I would urge you to go through your municipality accounts with a fine tooth. We found out in June 2018 that we have been paying municipality bills for tenants upstairs for years. If you are with Trafalgar I would suggest you go through your municipality accounts as it seems that it has happened to other consumers on this thread as well. Although small amounts every month over the years this has become a lot of money and although we send multiple mails and phone calls Trafalgar has been dragging their feet for the past 4 months and find every excuse in the book why they can't refund us the money they have taken. We are commercial properties in Charmax building, Vredehoek. We were told that there would be a resolve in October, but it seems like the situation will continuously be dragged out.

We identified the deviation initially and communicated it to the Landlord and tenants – it was not a case of them identifying the deviation

Subsequent to this we established that COC has been billing this property incorrectly – i.e. as a single residential unit rather than mixed use with commercial and residential usage on the premises

I have taken this up with them at a senior level and they have committed to do a recon on the account  after which I can do the necessary corrections – this was end November 2018

I am following up weekly with COC for the recon - but unfortunately we are reliant on the Council.

I have communicated to the Landlord and the 3 tenants involved twice in January this year that the corrections will be done once we receive COC `s recon

(The Landlord and other 2 tenants have accepted that )

Understandably this is now taking longer than expected but we will solve the matter and make the corrections- I anticipate worst case scenario will be end February 2019

Kind  regards
