Unprofessional conduct, misleading advertising, and public defamation

We engaged TradePlus+ at Brights Hardware after Richard Chittenden contacted us following our online request for a builder. TradePlus advertised vetted contractors, quality control, and client protection. In reality: • No site visits or quality checks were done by TradePlus. • Serious workmanship and compliance issues were ignored. • When problems were raised, responsibility was shifted instead of addressed. After I left an honest Google review about our experience, Richard Chittenden ***ner of TradePlus+) responded publicly in an unacceptable way: • He made personal remarks, including references to “mood swings” and imp**** substance-related behaviour. • He shared irrelevant personal stories instead of addressing the service issues. • He mocked and misrepresented our names, dismissing the importance of basic respect. • He refused to remove these comments when formally asked. This turned a customer review into a public personal attack, causing reputational harm to both myself and my partner (a business owner). Instead of resolving the matter professionally, TradePlus chose to deflect blame, minimise issues, and publicly insult clients. We have preserved screenshots, reports, and all communication. Based on our experience, we cannot recommend TradePlus+ and believe their advertising does not reflect how they actually operate.
