Not supplying what was promised

<p>I was using Tracks4Africa till today. I requesting my free upgrade from them as they committed in giving me one on an email that read. And I qoute from the email.<br />"This registration entitles you to a once-off free upgrade of the next version of our GPS maps. You will be contacted by email when this upgrade is available for download. If you wish to receive the free upgrade on SD Card, it can be posted to you at a cost of R150.00 if you live within the borders of South Africa. If you live outside of South Africa, the SD card can be couriered to you, but we have found costs to be prohibitive. "<br />After they wanted to charge me R500 for the upgrade and I resisted I got this response by email today.</p> <p>"Hi Louis,<br />At the time of purchase - when you decided to buy the product - there was no promise of a free upgrade. The mail you refer to was send only after the product was registered and that could not have been at the time of purchase.<br />So yes, you did receive a mail in error, but the point is that you did not have this information when you made the decision to purchase the product. There was no intention ever to have a free upgrade to this product and there was no communication to this effect in marketing material or on product packaging.<br />Kind regards<br />Johann Groenewald<br />Tracks4Africa"</p> <p>so do you want to use a company that refused to supply something that they promised you and that you paid for?</p>
