Unprofessional Hiring process
Disappointed by the Recruitment Process at Tracker Connect
I want to share my recent experience with a company’s recruitment process that left me questioning fairness and professionalism.
Here’s what happened:
After my post, I received a call from someone in HR who sounded like she didn’t even know I had completed assessments. During that call she said (and I quote): “I know there is a group that’s starting but with your assessment I’m not sure. However, you should know the position you app**** for is mine.” The call was rushed.
Just 24 hours later, I received a rejection email from the same individual.
This raised serious concerns for me:
Interview success – I had passed the interview stage.
Assessments not taken seriously – I was called in for psychometric tests, but HR was unaware I had even written them. This shows they were careless with candidate assessments.
Fingerprints taken – yet no outcome communicated.
No timely feedback – I had to follow up weekly for a month, only to be told “we are still finalising.” A full month of silence is unacceptable.
Follow-ups penalised – It almost feels like following up on your own application gives them a reason to reject you.
Fairness in question – While at their offices, I overheard an employee saying CVs should be brought in on Saturdays/ drop ins. This creates the impression that positions are rotated internally or given to “preferred” candidates.
Wasting candidates’ time and money – Candidates invest in data, travel, and preparation, only to be left chasing feedback that should be provided proactively.
This experience was disappointing. Recruitment should be transparent, fair, and respectful of every candidate’s time and effort. Instead, I left feeling undervalued and dismissed.
Companies need to remember: every candidate is also a potential customer, advocate, or critic of your brand. The way you treat candidates speaks louder than any corporate values statement.
Best regards,
