Bought a new car, contacted Tracker to establish if they can fit a tracker unit that will not interfere with my car's electronics. I was advised that the unit that the lade proposed would not. This unit was installed. We the go on lockdown, the eve of 26 March. The morning of the 27th my husband took my car to go to work (he is an essential services worker) i then worked from home (also providing essential services to the food industry). On his way to work, the car indicated that the batteries were low and my husband was forced to stop the vehicle. He was unable to driver any further , the car would not start or move. We called BMW on call which advised that they would have to tow the car back home as the car experienced total electronic failure. The technician then had the car towed to the house where he inspected the car and said something had caused the batteries to be totally depleted and affected all the electronics to the extend that the car would not lock, start etc. I called Tracker and they advised that they cannot attend to it as it was level 5. I was now stranded and had to make alternative plans to get anywhere in case my work required me to do so. A month later, i called again and a technician was sent out, he removed the tracker unit and started charging the batteries in the car. Hours later he advised that the car was fully charged but i need to get it to BMW asap. I advised him that they were still not doing calls nor services so I had to wait. During level 4 i was able to secure an appointment at BMW and my car was in for repair (remember this is a new car) for two days. When i collected my car the service tech advised me that something caused this and if they find that it was a tracker unit i can loose my warranty and there is a possibility that BMW could cancel my motor plan. Since then , three months later, I have had 11 calls with Tracker to discuss the fact that I am paying for a unit that is not compatible with my car (even if I was assured that it would be) I was informed by one of the call center staff that if I want to cancel the contract that I must pay R1600 which I am not prepared to pay as I have paid for over 5 months but had no unit in my car. I am now waiting since Thursday last week (3 September) for the so called manager to call me.
Best regards,
