Tracker raise their premiums
I am questioning a 10% increase in premiums when: South Africa’s CPI inflation was 3.5% in July 2025, a 10-month high but still moderate, with forecasts suggesting a range of 2.8-3.7% for 2025. This reflects general price increases, including for services like vehicle tracking, which rely on technology, labor, and fuel costs. Tracker’s 10% hike (R28.45 increase) is nearly triple the inflation rate, suggesting it’s not solely driven by cost pressures. Tracker’s services (e.g., Recover at R139/month, Protect at R179/month, Care at R199/month, as of 2024) haven’t shown recent industry-wide escalations of this magnitude in available data.
Other tracking service providers have shown no price increase.
I would like a formal motivation for this increase.
