Just our warning, as an owner of a fleet.
If you have the time, and you are considering this service. Please take note.
The Tracker promotion team did a fantastic job at promoting their product!
We own a driving school, a courier company and various vehicles dedicated to different purposes that required their own VMC (Vehicle Mounted Camera) solutions. The team told us that their product could track and record the entire route with ease, and that their technicians can install the product within a week.
We would first like to dedicate our compliments to the Tracker team that oversold their product and service, of which, does not exist.
Taking the contract, we app**** for this service on the 11th of November. Technicians arrived on the 19th of November to install the tracking unit, only to install the incorrect camera. This camera solution only recorded 6 second clips, which is absolutely useless.
Fast forward to the 30th of November after numerous calls and attempts, back and forth. No one came, no one assisted us.
Nothing happened for weeks.
After a month of no assistance, radio silence had commenced. We heard nothing until Trackers billing department harassed us for our payments. We then called customer care, and then handed to another customer care agent and then repeat.
We raised the issue with HR, and they mobilized an agent to help us with our case and to remove the wrong tracking unit.
(The billing department haunts us to this day for services not rendered.)
On the 3rd of December, after an attempt to disable tracker, we were then attended to by a company representative, who took the situation down on paper, and ensured that this will be attended to. She did a great job at maintaining the customer relations, until...
Radio silence. For 2 months. We then contacted their sales team for assistance, and they told us they now had a camera solution for us that records 24/7 and we will be able to mount it as soon as possible.
We then made it clear to them that if they did not come within the month of March, we will rip their camera out and keep it as collateral damage. A technical agent quickly responded and arrived on scene.
While he was disabling the camera, he told us about the camera he was installing, which could pull 30 second clips. We told the gentlemen there had been a misunderstanding, as we were told by the EXCELLENT and DECIETFUL sales team, that their product provides 24/7 coverage.
I had to then tell the Technical agent that we refused to accept their service and told the agent to take the camera and leave the premises. He could not remove the camera due to company policy as we had requested, and left it with us.
We contacted the HR representative and told her about the situation. She came over and showed us the new system and went on to tell us we can try it out for a month and let her know.
What happened 3 days after? Tracker Billing popped up, and asked for their payment.
NOW, THIS IS THE JUICY PART.
Our Courier Company was on a route. As this route was being conducted, we attempted to call our driver, but to no avail, his cellphone was answered by an anonymous person. We decided to actually use the system for once, as we required more information.
The vehicle was left in a ditch. And after viewing the 6 second clip provided, all we could see was 2 men in the back of the vehicle with our driver no-where to be seen.
We contacted Tracker Emergency Support, only to be confronted by your usual telephone prompt.
An agent answered the call, and then asked for our vehicle registration number. Not having these details on hand, we rushed to find it and after 5 minutes, provided the Registration Number. HE THEN ASKED FOR OUR VIN NUMBER.
These people are not prepared to help you in an emergency and it is appalling on their end to not have such important documents on hand, relative to the vehicle information. With so much time gone by, we simply contacted the Police who responded to the situation within 5 minutes.
Ever in trouble? Don't contact Tracker.
I'm currently expecting a call from their Billing Department, so that I can tell it to shove their bill where the sun doesn't shine.
We can at least make R100 back for the time you've wasted.
