Do not rely on Skytracker to assist when you need them

My elderly stepfather got completely lost while driving for six and a half hours. He is meticulous about time and routine and even had a meeting scheduled. So when he did not come home by his usual time we started worrying that something had happened to him. He would ALWAYS let my mom know if he got delayed. He called very briefly after 3 hrs to say that he was lost. We couldn’t get hold of him by phone again. We called Skytracker when he had be missing for 5 and a half hrs, hoping that they would assist as he drives a Lexus that is fitted with their device. They refused to help unless we first reported him missing with the police. Needless to say the police wouldn’t file a case yet, and insisted that Skytracker should and must help find his vehicle. On our way back from the police station (6.5 hrs after we started worrying) he finally called to say that he had arrived home safely. What disgusting and utterly disappointing service!
