Cancellation fee??

I recently sold my car and when I tried to cancel my subscription they quoted me an R800 cancellation fee. The amount that I would have paid until the end of my three year contract was just over R700...

Surely a cancellation fee should be worked out as a percentage of the outstanding amount? Especially with something like the sale of an automobile. The mind boggles.
