An insurer that transfers the risk to you

Took out car insurance from 1 Oct but cancelled before the policy even commenced. MiWay wanted me to DOWNGRADE from Tracker Care to Tracker Recover and be bound by a new 3-year contract, whereas I paid R1800 cash for the Tracker unit 3 months ago in order to not be bound by a contract. Furthermore, insurance cover is subject to your Tracker unit being 100% operational but my experience with Tracker, as a company, is that they are 100% USELESS. Reported a problem 3 weeks ago. And again. And again. Still waiting! Time to find an insurer that isn't partnered with these clowns . . .

As a result of the risk, I have had to stay with Outsurance who I've been with for over 20 years. While I have explained to MiWay, today, exactly why I cancelled the new policy before it had even begun, I have also logged a call with Outsurance in order to report the staggering ineptitude experienced with Tracker as a company. Outsurance has this on record and has also undertaken to address the matter.

This serves to confirm that the resolution process of my query needed no explanation. What it needed was for Tracker to perform the duties it is paid to perform. A technician replaced the defective unit this morning, which has been defective on your system since 7 Aug awaiting your scheduling department's promised attention. Too bad that MiWay lost a customer. What piqued my concern was when MiWay got me to expressely agree, telephonically, that it is MY responsibility to ensure that the tracking device is always working. So my heading " An insurer that transfers the risk to you " is pretty apt, with tracking companies evidently parking off in the comfort of knowing that your debit order is fine. Let's see how it goes from here . . .
