Naming paying rental customers squatters
In 2018 I placed myself under debt review. I obtain a budget which states the amount allocated for rental. For the past 5 years I have been renting a property and make monthly payments on time. This year the owner sold the house, and the new owner informed me that they wont extent the lease. I was forced to find alternative property to rent. I started the process and the rental agent informed me that I am listed as a squatter at TPN. My credit score at TPN are rated as an F, meaning no rental agency will allow me to rent a property. I called TPN and spoke to Ernst Zondo who informed me that being under debt review is seen as a negative. In addition, the restructuring of payments is not considered into the affordability calculator, even though I make regular payments through the distribution system. In addition, the credit score is obtained from Transunion. When I informed Mr Zondo that my credit report from Transunion states that there is no score, and that I cannot be punished or called a squatter, I was informed that the system auto generate the score and that at this stage I pose a risk to rent a property. The fact that I have a 100% payment record for my current rental over the last 5 years makes no difference. TPN has no right to violate my rights to rent a property. TPN has no right to use debt review against a person as a negative, and have negative findings against a person who has committed and maintained their payment agreements with their debtors. Your inaccurate credit report will cause me to become homeless. How is this fair towards anyone? I will report you to the National Credit regulator
