Toys R Us being inconsiderate

Hello I bought a twin stroller last year February at Toys R US Mall of the North Polokwane and due to the lock down it was never used. In June one of the twins passed away and right after the funeral I decided to return it since it wasn't going to serve the purpose any longer. When I got to the store, the manager didn't even want to look at it but concluded without even touching it that it's dirty and he will not take it back. I went back home and returned to the store 3 days later. The assistant manager looked around it, and said it was fine and we should come back when we have our credit card for a refund since their gift card machine wasn't working. Still at that, the following day early in the morning we were woken up by a call from the store saying the manager said we should fetch the stroller and he is not going to take it back. My other reason for taking it back was for emotional reasons because seeing it everyday would not help me heal in any way. The stroller has since been with them till to date.
