Lack of compassion and care as well as poor people s****s by manager at store.

I visited Toys R Us store in Hemingways mall, East London to spend my hard earned money on the store for my soon to be ten months old daughter. As I came into the store my Sumsung galaxy S7 phone rung and I of course answered the call. The security who was at the door that day 03/12/2017 can verify this. I went to the store to get a baby cart. As I entered I walked into baby trolleys and that's where I stood admiring the trolleys while talking on my phone. I then went to look at other things (bottles and dummies and other stuff) and ended up on the baby carts where I was goung. One woman was attending to me as I was asking about the carts. Another customer asked for assistance from the same woman who was helping me and I gave her permission to attend to the other customer as I had gotten the information I needed. I left the store and on my way to the car park was called by an old friend of mine in a fitness shop. As I entered this store I wanted to do a transaction so I reached for my bag to get my phone and behold there was no phone. In a state of panic I retraced my steps and went back to Toys R Us where I last used the phone. At no other point after receiving my last call did I use the phone so I was sure I will find the phone in the baby trolleys section or baby cart section. On my way running back to the store I saw the woman who was attending to me going the opposite direction. I expressed to her that I left my phone in the store and she uncaringly said "if you left it there you will find it there and continued walking. As I entered the store I told the security guard and he confirm that as I entered the store I was in a call and helped me look where he last saw me standing. The other staff were not really bothered except for one guy who seemed like he was part of the maintenance team according to how he was dressed. We looked for the phone in vain. The woman I saw when I was running to look for my phone came back and I explained about the phone. She asked if I was sure I lost phone there. And I was very sure and security guard assured her that he saw me use the phone. She went about her bussnes after it was confirmed I was seen with the phone . I left for about 19 minutes and came back and another male staff now part of the store helped me look. We even tried searching with blootooth but nothing came of this.

Now I know the store is not liable to any loss for customers but my two main issues are as follows : I am 100% sure the phone was lost in the store as I didn't use it anywhere else but instead of the lady who attended to me before I realized that my phone was not with me to show compassion, she showed me bad attitude and questioned whether I lost my phone there or not even though someone saw me using the phone there and even though I explained everything to her. Number 2 it is Hemingways mall regulation that all stores at the mall should have cameras. This not only helps the store but also helps protect customers from theft. Why does the store not have camera I fail to understand. Also when I went to check if my phone hadn't been found the next day the lady that I interacted with together with the same security guard at the door saw me and she mockingly asked "are you still looking for your phone?" I rep**** yes and explained that I know I lost the phone in the store. She mumbled some words and walked away from me towards the tills. I was; number 1 shocked by her lack of compassion and her disgard and afterwards sad that I even went to the store to begin with. I went to the store the following week and asked to speak to the manager of the store only to find out that the same woman who disregarded me and gave me bad attitude was indeed the manager. It is sad that such people with poor customer management s****s are given position that require so much maturity and carry so much responsibility. I am disappointed that the store doesn't have cameras as I would have seen who took my phone but I'm even more disappointed by that woman who lacked the critical credentials that are needed by store managers. I even suspect that she may be responsible for the loss of my phone.

Disgruntled customer.
