Confusing price tags
I went Toys R Us - Wonderpark on Saturday, 22 February 2020, to purchase some toys. As I was browsing around I found the crawling toy I was looking for. There were two labels eith different prices (R99 and R199) but the same toy name, same barcode. I called the assistant and she didn't know the actual price for the toy and speculated that "maybe" the lower price was for a special she wasn't sure. She went to confirm with colleagues at the back, came back and told me the highest price was the correct one. I then told her that any of the prices is correct since they were referring to the same item. I then took pictures of the labels for use when I pay at the tills.
When I got to the tills, they told me the price was R199 and i told them about the two prices on the shelves. The cashier then asked me to take her to the shelves. The manager told the cashier to stay put and assist other customer while she (manager) took me to the shelves. When we got there, the price tag had been changed and she disputed my earlier observation of the different price tags. I told her i had pictures for reference, I showed her (with the picture info: location, time and date) and she disputed and said she only sees R199 and that's it.
It was shocking to see the amount of evasiveness in the manager and her reluctance to admit the mistake on their part. I had items worth about R700 and I left everything there as I could not stand seeing myself leave a cent in that store. I am never walking into that store again as they do not know anything about customer care/service.
