POOR SERVICE

I have been a Toyota owner from 1991. Of all the Toyota dealers I have dealt with over the years Protea Toyota, Bellville is the worst service centre that I have ever had the misfortune of dealing with. Over the last 3 years I have serviced my Toyota Furtuner with them three times. Of these I have only had one satisfactory service done and that was when I just requested a normal service with no additional work to be done. On the other two occassions the work that I requested done, was not done when I went to pick up my car (after I was informed that my vehicle was ready for collection. During my last service on 10 June 2026, I requested that my left rear light unit be attended to. Water had started accumilating in the unit and as a result my rear left indicator was not working. I was called around 15:10 to inform me that my vehicle would be ready by 15:45. I arrived at the dealership at 16:20. After I had waited approx 12 minutes for the service manager (Johnny Gelderblom) to fetch my vehicle, he came back to inform me that the bulb was rusted and they could not replace it. It was obvious that they had not attended to this earlier and only tried to drain the water and replace the bulb after I had already settled the bill and waited for my vehicle to be brought down. With only 30 minutes before they closed, I was told that they could not help me and that I should go to an auto electrician. Furthermore, my vehicle was not washed and no old parts were supp**** (as is custom), which leaves me with the question of whether the service was done properly. In 35 years of servicing my vehicles, I have only received my car unwashed after a service. Both of these occasions were during the last 3 years at Protea Toyota Bellville. I will never make use of this dealership again and would recommend Toyota owners to steer clear of Protea Toyota Bellville.
