False advertising and a refusal to honour advertised prices
While I have generally been quite happy with Toy Kingdom in the past, so much so my wife has a Toy Kingdom card, my latest interaction with them during their Mega Sale in August 2022 left a really sour taste in my mouth.
My daughter had the Barbie Ultimate Closet on her list of presents she would like for her birthday. When we saw their Mega Sale being advertised, we browsed the list and saw this item on special. Normal price R449 and lister on special for R299. We immediately tried to purchase it, since it is a really good price. Sadly, when it was added to the cart, it reverted back to its original price.
I tried contacting them on ***, since their head office telephone number doesn't appear anywhere on their website (only on their Facebook page). After not hearing anything for a day, I tried calling them and got through. They said they will look into it.
5 days later, I sent another email in reply to my as-yet-unanswered mail. This resulted in a fairly generic response saying they are looking into it. Another day later, I finally get a response saying it was an error on the website and that it was never supposed to be on special, but the item is sold out anyway.
This is totally unacceptable and shows a remarkable disdain for their customers.
