warranty issues with TFG

i bought the mobile devise in DEC 2016 which worked till recently as the charging pin has stopped receiving power and the devise carries a 24 manufacture warranty that excludes headsets and charger that im happy with but states if the devise has manufacturing defects they will cover when i took it to the store (Protea Glen mall) on the 28\03\2017 Tumi was kind enough to assist with paper work and he was gonna send the devise to warranty as he saw it had a 24 months warranty now we got a mail from Innocent Matwebu that the devise is out of warranty when i count the devise is 17 months so what happened to the remaining 7 month ,so what kind of service doesn't TFG provides and i have the warranty papers that states the devise is on 24 months warranty
