Totalsports online return policy is different to real life
I bought a Fitbit Versa from Totalsports online because the battery simply does not last.
Their online returns policy says:
If you are unhappy with your purchase for any reason (other than if it is defective) and wish to return it, you may do so within 30 (thirty) days of the date that they are delivered to you or collected by you. The goods must be in their original condition and packaging and you must have the invoice or the delivery note/returns form. We will refund you in full, however if the goods were received by you as a gift, you will have to exchange the item for goods of the same value in the store from which the goods originated.
However, when I returned the device at the Mall of the South, I was told it would have to first go to Fitbit. They said that smar****ches fall under: cellular telephones, tablets, laptops, electronic devices; which was not at all clear as part of the online purchase.
I also got no slip or anything of the sort to prove that Totalsports in now in possession of the device. When I asked for one, I was told to "trust" the staff which is hard to do in SA.
When will I get a refund, please?
