Totalsport Promenade - Unacceptable Service

I have a serious complaint concerning the Totalsports Store in Mitchells Plain Promenade.

My wife went into the store yesterday (4th October 2020) to buy a pair of sneakers. The employee that helped us was a young african man, he was very distracted to begin with - as if our query concerning the size of a shoe wasnt important. We were also told that the nike sneaker doesnt get shipped in UK size 4 but instead arrives from size 5. We accepted his explanation and left.

Upon leaving we experienced another unfortunate hiccup. My wife and I were at the entrance/exit, when we were confronted by one of your employees. I was then asked to open my bag and wife's backpack. That part I understand as shoplifting is quite rife in the Promenade.

Upon the employee inspecting the bags I questioned him as to why it was necessary. It was then that another employee, an older lady commented to my question by saying "Daar moet een wees". She probably thought I wouldnt understand afrikaans as she said it twice to him as I was enquiring about the bags.

We eventually left and went to the Totalsports branch in Westgate Mall. Shockingly, they had a size 4 and we were greeted by quite a few friendly faces. Not once were we made to feel uncomfortable in any way and service was the total opposite of what we experienced in the Promenade store.

I understand that these are trying times but surely this is unacceptable.
