Refund or Exchange

I bought Nike soccer boots last week, I used it today for the first time, one of the studs on the soccer boots broke off as I was playing and I realised when I took the soccer boots off after them game, I have the receipt and the Totalsports plastic bag, but I left the Nike soccer boots box in the shop, can I still take the soccer boots back to the Totalsports shop for refund or exchange, please help?
