Lack of empathy and privacy

So, I notified TFG that I am currently not working and will thus be unable to make payments on my account. Instead of simply responding to my e-mail, they go on to call one of my family members. Doesn't POPIA mean anything to people? Anyway, I complain about all this and get an e-mail stating that while this is understood ["noted on my account"], I will still be charged collection fees for all the notifications they need to send me. Fine... but why call me everyday? Why send me SMSs threatening legal action? Just to bump up the charges? We both know where we stand... is a monthly statement and a periodic SMS not enough? Do I really need to be called every day? And also have my family members called?
