Injury as a Result of Neglect to Adhere to Proper Cleaning Methods

I have always been a loyal customer when it comes to the products of Total Sport. Just a few months ago I spent over R 2 000.00 on a pair of running shoes, which I use almost every day.

On Thursday, 29 March 2018, myself and my fiancé went to your shop at Clearwater mall, intending to purchase a few fitness products.

As I walked through the door, just at the entrance, I stepped in one of the pins that connects to the anti-theft devices the store uses on their clothing.

When my fiancé asked where the health an safety of the shop was, he was asked “How do you know this was our fault?!” But the pin was laying right at the entrance of the shop and Total Sport totally neglected picking it up!

When the lady at the shop, named Petunia pulled the pin from my foot, it was blood everywhere! She helped me very efficiently by cleaning the wound and putting a bandage over it. However this is totally and utterly unacceptable, as I could have become very ill from the wound! I had to get a vaccine to reduce the risk of getting a blood infection and I could not walk on my foot for several days.

When we looked around the shop it was filthy, filled with papers and dust everywhere.

As we left your shop, drops of my blood was still laying in the entrance, where other customers were stepping through. They had not even started cleaning it.

I will never set foot in their shop again.
