ID linked to a card that I've never been granted
I had a TFG card given to me on a previous purchase from Markham. Recently I've been to Total-Sports Rosebank Mall, and when the cashier asked me if I had a reward card, I showed her my Markham? I told her that card was registered under my passport number and recently I've been granted my ID number. I've asked if it is possible to update the system and update my ID number instead of my passport number. She told me it's better if I can get a new card (from Total-Sports) registered with my ID, and then she can link my Markham card, so I agreed.
She gave me a new card. A few days later my wife was shopping at TS and when she used the TS card, it showed that (invalid card)? They asked her for the ID number, and when she gave it to them they told her that ID number was registered under a different card number (which we don't have). I re-visited TS Rosebank after my overseas trip (on Sun 01 March) and I've met the same lady who granted me that card, she checked the system and confirmed that the ID was linked to another card number (she refused at the beginning to admit it was her mistake, later she admitted it was her mistake). Now I am setting with a card that not valid, with my ID linked to a card that I don't have and my Markham card is not linked to any card? I asked her to change the details on the reward system but she can't. I asked her to deactivate the other TS number, she can't? I asked her to order me a card with a correct number, again she can't? She told me I can just use my ID number? but I don't have that card registered under my ID? Legally, I must be that cardholder, and I can't use a card number that never provided to me. I went to Markham and told them I am cutting my card that they gave it to me (since it was linked to my passport not my ID?). Now I need my card number that been linked to my ID to be canceled. I've been a victim of cybersecurity and I can't tolerate someone else using my card with my ID for any suspicious purchases. My lawyers will be happy to take action of such a request is ignored. I don't need any of your TFGs, it was a mistake from the lady from TS Rosebank who linked my ID to a card and gave me an invalid one.
My request is simple: De-link my ID from the TS card.
I will check the store on a 7-working day and if my ID still linked to that ghost card number then I have no choice but to go lawsuit. Identity thefts have been a curse in this country and the last thing I will tolerate is someone using my ID for unauthorized purchases.
You have to provide me with a written/emailed statement confirming the cancellation of such a number (as you can't either issue me a replacement card or fix the problem).
