********** account opened in my name

A totalSport account has been opened using my details and personal documents ID number. when I requested proof from the total sport head office of when and where the account was opened they refused to give me the information stating that its because the account had been handed over to the lawyers. when I called the lawyers they only have a contract which apparently doesn't even state the store at which the account was opened. the email address they have on their system does not even belong to me. the sad part is that I only get called when payment is due (and account handed to the lawyers) why were the details not verified when the account was opened ?
