Disappointing Experience with Hoka Shoes and Totalsports Customer Service

I recently purchased a pair of Hoka shoes valued at R2900 from Totalsports on March 10, 2023. Despite the shoes being advertised with a guarantee of lasting a specified time, I encountered a significant issue when the shoes started causing blisters on my ankles in July/August of the same year.

Due to a busy schedule, I was unable to visit the store until October. However, I was disheartened to learn that Totalsports cited their 6-month policy, refusing to address the issue or liaise with the company despite the guarantee.

My frustration deepened as previous footwear has endured far more rigorous activities, lasting up to two years without any signs of wear on the inside. Attempts to seek assistance from Hoka were equally futile, as they lack a presence in South Africa.

As a full-time student and worker, this experience has been exceptionally disappointing. The lack of cooperation from both Totalsports and Hoka has left me disillusioned and, regrettably, I cannot foresee purchasing from either again. With a regular rotation of 2-3 pairs of exercise shoes, I am inclined to take my business elsewhere for future footwear needs.

I hope this feedback prompts a reevaluation of customer service policies and ensures a more positive experience for others in the future.
