****y and poor customer service at Total the Glen.
It was Saturday morning between 9 and 10am, a gentleman by the name of Richard who works as at petrol pump attendant at the Total Garage at the Glen. The reason why I approached the Total Garage at the Glen was to ask for their assistance by bringing me a 5 litre can to put fuel into my car that had run out of fuel just at the entrance of the garage. This gentleman by the name of Richard said no to my request of bringing me the jerry can to put fuel into my car. He said that in order to ensure that the jerry can was returned to him he'd have to take my cell phone as insurance. When I said no and rather suggested that someone come with me and he said it came to refuel the vehicle he said no to that. Prior to this all when I requested to speak to the manager he in part said that I would get the same message from the manager as to why they can't just send someone with the jerry can and why my phone had to be used as insurance. He together with his friend while I was busy with refueling issue were as I received it joking around and using me as a source of entertainment by way of speaking in their language about me. Now I took offence to that type of treatment for the simple reason while I was conversing with this young man by the name of Richard he had a lot to say for himself in the sense of him being very opinionated. My issue with that is from Total SA I want to know is it policy to take a customer cell phone as insurance for a 5l jerry can when the customer wants to use it to refill his vehicle? Why could total at the Glen not accommodate me and instead give me the lamest excuse that it is policy not to do that by way of coming with the customer while he is refueling his vehicle with the jerry can and then take the jerry can back? That for me as a paying customer don't want to hear the lame excuse its according to policy. I want total the Glen in closing show me in black and white on paper where it says that it is their policy to take the customer cell phone as insurance for a 5l jerry can that is potentially worth nothing. There as far as I'm concerned did not have the right to take my phone. I will be taking this further. Regards an annoyed customer.
