No Security present - ****** at Petroport

Total Petroport Riverhorse South: Worst experience ever Around 20h30 on 27-2-20 I pulled in at this garage to refuel and grab something to drink. Never expected the experience. Upon leaving the shop a gentleman approached me smelling of alcohol and acting rather unruly grabbing me and bumping into me with no security present at the time. After the confrontation I returned to my vehicle only to realise that i had been pick pocketed and my cell phone that i use for both business and private use was missing

I tried to call it and immediately went to voicemail so I returned to the shop for help only to find the security guard had reappeared and also to learn that another gentleman had been pick pocketed not even 30 seconds before me.The gentleman behind the cash register was very helpful and immediately called the manager who refused to come out claiming we should meet back the following day to review footage around 7am (before turning his phone off to future calls)

The Greenwood Park police officers arrived and still no manager. After speaking to the sole UNARMED security guard on duty he claimed his only job was to guard the atm ( located about 3m or so away from the incidents ). The police also informed us that this was the 3rd or 4th occasion that they had been called to the same place in a week

Anyway i arrived the following day to review the footage on time and was taken to their managers office. Very unprofessional man passing blame and swearing at his security company in front of patrons

Then we needed his camera guy to be present. So I was asked to wait at the Mugg & Bean for 5min ( This happened multiple times throughout the day ) till he arrived. 90min later he casually strolls in and requests the security company to be present. Each time being asked to wait at Mugg & Bean and being left clueless and in the dark with no follow up details or anything till going to see the manager again on my own out of frustration

The security company came out and revealed that the Petroport had not followed the Crime Risk Analysis which stipulated a minimum of 3 guards on duty. Again the manager blamed everyone else

After reviewing further footage we found footage of the suspects and a very blurred image of the get away car with no camera in position to get the registration ( Again not the managers fault ) and were advised to open cases at the Greenwood Park SAPS

So while the security company assisted me the manager went off and seemed to completely forget about the issue at hand

In the end there are cases being investigated. But I am down a R5500 cellphone and losing income as a result of all my customers contact details being on it. The other gentleman is down R1500 cash as well as all bank cards, ID documents and Drivers license. That's not even taking into account the other 2 incidents this week. And anything prior to it

But after the way that manager showed no remorse, sympathy or even interest in protecting his customers I will never return there again. And really feel that we should all be reimbursed for our losses, security should be bumped up, guidelines should be followed and responsibility should be taken
