Longest gas stop ever!!!

<p>After working late and leaving work at around 19h00, I headed to the Total Westville garage that is situated on Westville Road. Due to the price increase and the garage being relatively quiet I thought it would be a perfect place to fill up before heading home. How wrong I was…</p> <p> </p> <p>There were only 2 attendants in the Total uniform at the garage along with a security guard ( yes a security guard) that were filling cars. My luck of the draw I got the security guard who I initially thought was a trainee with his reflector vest.<br />While the properly attired attendants handled one vehicle each the security guard was handling my vehicle and another vehicle at the adjacent pump.<br />There I asked for 400 rand Diesel 50, and continued to answer some messages etc., when I noticed in my side mirror that the black diesel 50 nozzle was still in the pump. I got out of the car and to my dismay the green unleaded nozzle had filled 393 rand worth of petrol into my diesel car.<br />Again the security guard/ make shift attendant was attending to another car so I had to stop the pump from filling.<br />All the security guard could say was sorry, I asked to speak to the owner. Who after having a 10 minute chat while I was out in the rain and cold waiting for him finally decided to come out and tell me that he has called for a mechanic and that he will be there in an hours’ time. After work and wanting to go home, this is the last thing you want to hear.<br />Back to the office the owner disappeared, luckily there was a Mugg and Bean at this garage where I was able to purchase a coffee and sit and wait for the mechanic.<br />After about 45 min of waiting I asked the security guard to go ask the owner what is the E.T.A on the mechanic. To my surprise the owner had left to go home. No decency to even update me. Clearly he is the only one that needed to get home to his family…….<br />In any event the mechanic did come and the vehicle was drained and diesel filled again which again I paid for and I was on my way home reaching home around 10pm. Longest fuel stop ever.<br /> </p> <p>I am not one who looks for handouts or likes to complain but surely you can see that this is unacceptable. Firstly allowing untrained personnel to be handling the petrol pumps. The owner not even being courteous enough to offer a coffee or something to eat from his establishment (since I was spending dinner time at the garage through their negligence). Not even to compensate for the fuel cause of the +- 3 hours spent waiting at his garage.</p>
