Contaminated fuel Total Rock Cottage.
On the 21st of February 2021 I put R200 worth of petrol in my car and drove for an entire week on the petrol, I then need to refuel after getting paid and on the 27th of February 2021 I filled up my tank (R600 worth) at Total Rock Cottage, my go to garage as it is nearest to me. I drove from the garage home which is not more the 3km away and didn't drive again (working from home) until 04th March 2021. I left my house and not even two kilometres away my car broke down, no power and then cut out. I had to have it towed to the dealership where after inspecting the car they found the petrol had water in it and was dirty. We went to the garage to inform them and get the owners number. Thabisile said we need to get samples for them to test. We informed her today that we have the samples, she then proceeded to ask if we are going to pay for the testing of the contaminated fuel that caused over R9000 damage to my car. I have the card slip and bank statements to prove that the last two times I put petrol in my car was at this garage.
She proceeded to say that they test for water in their tanks everyday and when asking if she could bring those test results with for the week in question that includes the 27th of February, she says what does that have to do with us even though that would help with identifying where the contamination came from.
There is no customer service number or email on their website.
I would like a response from head office on this situation and for someone to reply to tis post with contact details to resolve this issue.
