DAYLIGHT ******* OF VAT CHARGED ON LP GAS TOTAL PORTLANDS MITCHELLS PLAIN

I just bought a 9kg LP Gas from Total Portlands in Mitchells Plain, Cape Town. LP Gas is regulated, and the gas I bought retails for about R340 to R350, depending on the retailer. I couldn't argue with anybody as one is just observed through a two-way window only.

When I got home, I deflated and looked at my cash slip. I noticed I was charged VAT at 15%, which amounted to R52.96. This equates to Gas Charged at R353.04, which is close to the normal regulation price. Then, I received a tax invoice that included R52.96 VAT, which was *******, but it totalled R406.00.

VAT was s****ped for LP Gas to give poorer people a leg up. BUT I think many a Mitchells Plain Trader will plead ignorance and charge the poor ******** folk VAT and roll the dice on how many would notice! I want my money back that I have been overcharged deliberately.

I told the attendant who helped me (EDRIES), but he showed me the price list on the garage window and the price of 9 kg gas was visibly inked over with a pen. He told me TWICE these are the prices management insisted on. There is nothing that can be done.

I noticed on my credit card slip that they do not have a PLU for 9 kg of gas, and I was charged for Diesel ppm 40600. 000 Litre(s) @ R0.01. Whatever this means, I was charged R406.00 instead of +/- R340.
