UNPAID MATERNITY BILLS
<p>I took out my membership in december 2014 and found out a month later i was pregnant. What was supposed to be a stress free time turned out to be an endless battle for bills to be paid. Come time for me to give birth i was booked for a c section and AUTHORISATION WAS OBTAINED FOR EVERYTHING!!!!!! I am now paying for hospital bills which should have been covered. My gynae wasnt paid as well as the anesthesiologist and my baby's in hospital costs werent paid. Not even my full hospital bill was covered despite me using a network hospital. When i terminated my membership, topmed has the audacity to send me letters saying that i owe them money for savings used. I refuse to pay them any money no matter how small the amount is because i am now paying so much from my own pocket even though i was on medical aid. This is honestly the worst medical aid and i wouldnt recommend it to anybody! It took the joy out of my pregnancy</p>

I have tried contacting you on the number you provided with this query, however there was no answer, i did leave a voice message for you.
I have investigated your query and all accounts that we have received with regards to the birth of your baby was paid. The hospital account was paid at the agreed rate, they charged the incorrect tariff on your account and you should not be held liable for the difference. The gynaecologist and anaesthetist account was settled, the only shortfall was on the anaesthetist account which was R1.40. We have only received one account for your baby which was for a blood test, this account was settled with the laboratory in full.
