Be Warned, deal with Topline at your peril.

<p>The following is an account of an experience that I had with Topline Boreholes.</p> <p> </p> <p>Although this was not a recent experience I was prompted to write this after witnessing the unhappy</p> <p>dealings that my neighbour recently had with Topline.</p> <p> </p> <p>My borehole stopped working and I contacted Topline to investigate the problem.</p> <p>They sent out a team immediately (within 2 hours) and removed the pump.</p> <p>The following day I received a call from Alan and was quoted R13 500.00 for the repairs.</p> <p>This seemed excessive and when I mentioned that I was not happy with the price I was told that</p> <p>they had stripped the pump in their workshop and it definitely needed replacing along with the</p> <p>motor which was burnt out.</p> <p> </p> <p>I decided to obtain a second opinion and contacted another borehole company. When I told them</p> <p>about the Topline quote they advised me to get my equipment back. They told me that Topline</p> <p>don’t have a workshop and that they use a company in Alberton for all their repairs. They gave me</p> <p>the name and I went and retrieved my equipment which hadn’t been stripped and was untouched.</p> <p> </p> <p>On inspection it was found that there was nothing wrong with the pump and a new motor was</p> <p>R2500.00 They installed and commissioned the pump and motor and it cost me R3200.00.</p> <p> </p> <p>I contacted Alan at Topline and confronted him with the fact that there was nothing wrong with</p> <p>the pump and that I was getting the repairs done for R10000.00 less than he quoted.</p> <p>He was angry about me retrieving my equipment without telling him, but I told him that by doing</p> <p>that I proved that he was dishonest and I refused to pay him any money.</p> <p> </p> <p>My neighbour recently had a borehole installed and the company that drilled the borehole</p> <p>recommended Topline Boreholes to do the installation of the pump, water tank and related equipment.</p> <p>Knowing that I had a borehole the neighbour showed me the Topline quote and asked me if I thought</p> <p>the price was reasonable.</p> <p>The moment I saw the name Topline on the quote I advised the neighbour to obtain other quotes.</p> <p>I also provided the details of the company that had previously rescued me from my dealings with Topline.</p> <p> </p> <p>The Topline quote was R90 000.00 which turned out to be R40 000.00 more than the next highest of</p> <p>three other quotes that the neighbour obtained.</p> <p> </p> <p>Unfortunately my neighbour had already paid Topline a substantial deposit and it has taken many</p> <p>threats and lawyers’ letters to try and get the funds back. Eventually my neighbour was forced to</p> <p>sign a non-disclosure agreement in order to have the deposit refunded. However I suspect that an</p> <p>unrealistic amount was held back by Topline for work that had already been performed.</p> <p>My very unhappy neighbour is barred from making this experience with Topline public due to the</p> <p>non-disclosure agreement that was signed.</p> <p> </p> <p>I however am under no such restraint.</p> <p> </p> <p>I hereby advise everybody who reads this to avoid Topline Boreholes at all costs.</p> <p>These people are in my opinion greedy, dishonest, *********, and *************.</p> <p>You will deeply regret having any dealings with them.</p> <p>You have been warned!</p> <p> </p>
