Large Eggs Incorrectly Graded – Toplay Eggs

Today I purchased a tray of 30 eggs, branded **Toplay Eggs**, from a shop in Waltloo.

When I got home and removed the plastic wrapping, I immediately noticed that the eggs looked unusually small for eggs labelled “Large.” I then weighed several eggs to confirm my concern. The average weight was approximately 54 g per egg.

According to South African egg grading standards, "Large eggs should not weigh less than 63 g per egg", as stated on the packaging those eggs were large. Based on my measurements, these eggs clearly do not meet the minimum weight requirement for the size indicated.

This is misleading to consumers, as the product supp**** does not match what is advertised on the packaging. I would like Toplay to explain this discrepancy and clarify how quality control and grading are being managed.

I am posting this to make other consumers aware and to request a response from the supplier.
