Top Town Lodge Bull****

Top Town Lodge, Butterworth. Please don’t book at this place. I booked at this place through booking.com and paid in full, R6802.11. When I was searching for accommodation in Butterworth, this place, according to their profile, was perfect. Close to town, self catering and in the rooms an aircon, fridge and microwave with a full kitchenette. We arrived at 20:30 and booked in, to my surprise, no aircon, no fridge and no microwave and the full kitchenette was a empty cupboard and to top it up, no electricity. I asked the manager and was informed that it was load shedding, so this was not to bad as the electricity should be back by 22:00. They had a generator running, but this was to small to carry the lights they had on, so not even the tv could work. As I have severe sleep abnea, I can’t sleep without my machine and had to wait until 22:00 for the power to come back on. 22:00 came, no power and so dit 23:00, 00:00 and 1:00 came and still no power and no sleep for that night. At daybreak I went to the office to sort this out, asked the manager about the fridge, microwave and aircon and was told that none of the rooms have those facilities and the best of all was, they haven’t had electricity for more than a month. When I told the guy that I paid for what was advertised and that I expect what I paid for, I was met with shoulders pulled up and a “Sorry”. i asked for a full refund and was also just told “SORRY “. Please don’t book at this place and waste your money as you surely going to loose it.
