TOP DISH INSTALLERS - *****S AGAIN !
TOP DISH INSTALLERS – *****S
I wish I had seen Steve M’s review (30 April 2018) titled TOP DISH INSTALLERS – *****S.
I called the same company (they call themselves Top Dish Installations now on their Invoice) and the guy came on Fri 25/08 (3pm). They were called because of E48 error which pointed to low signal and no channels could be viewed. This was after strong winds in the week. What happened next is pure ****ming and certainly not being left purely on Hello Peter,
I will say up front, the metal dish had some rust but other than that, had been working perfectly for years, so alignment seemed to be the need, hence I called them.
The guy looked at the message on the TV screen showing the code, then walked out to where the dish was (borrowed a 2 step ladder, did not even bring his own kit in which was initially a concern), but I only arrived to check it with him a minute or so later. I found him with the arm of the LNB bent down facing the ground where the rust spot was. He had actually damaged the arm (bent the weak spot at the bend of the arm) to make sure he could say that was the problem (he stated exactly that), a rusted dish causing the problem.
I then was quoted a total of R2 500 for the dish, callout and labour.
Just like Steve, I had no time on a Fri to run around looking for a deal on a dish, so reluctantly gave the go-ahead.
This is where the proof of **** comes and NO business integrity.
He left after about an hour and then the wind came up (not gale force) and the E48 came back. This proved there and then, there was nothing wrong with the old dish, as I was back to square one even with my new pretty dish.
I then contacted my bank to stop the payment but since my bank is the same as the bank details of the business, it went through immediately. I have the forms from the bank to request a reversal and will be stating why (after the Police case opened up).
After chasing him to come back, he came around 7pm, fiddled again and left.
The next morning (good weather), a few channels had E48, so I called the installer and his manager to come back.
During my attempts, I realized, other than the 2 cell numbers I had, on the invoice, the details are **** – email address bounces back, Web address does not exist, the landline dies straight away when trying.
The same numbers are involved in this business as what Steve M mentioned - ********** 268 (guy who installed) and ********** 576 (claims to be a manager).
He then came back at 6pm on Sat and fitted a new LNB, signal has been fine since then.
So, all I needed was a new LNB, rathe than a person intentionally damaging the dish to fit a new one This showed me the business was is *****ulent.
The owners number (Nathan) is nowhere on the Invoice so you cannot get hold of him. I thought the Manager was the owner when I saw his cell number on the Invoice.
I am going to the Police and to DSTV, especially since the DSTV may have them listed but I notice in the Web address (does not work), they use DSTV’s name (www.topdstvinstallers.co.za) which if not accredited, it could be *******. I can only hope.
STAY AWAY FROM THEM !
