They disregard the consumer protections act that states, the price the consumer see on package is the price they should pay. They should be enlightened on how this works an be fined for not complying with the government regulations.

I have been a loyal customer buying all my meat here for the last 10 years. Gradually, the quality of the products and services deteriorated. About a month ago, I bought 4 x 500g beef mince. After cooking 500g beef mince, I was enjoying the Bolognese when all of a sudden I chewed something very hard. I spit it out and found two small pieces that looked like rock. I called the butchery manager, sent her pics of it, and she offered to replace the remaining packets. I chose not to and gave it away. Today I bought a hindquarter and a lamb. Cost me nearly 10K. When the butcher started cutting the meat, he kept coughing over it. It sounded like he had the flu. I had to ask someone behind the counter to give him a mask. He then put a mask on. When they started packing the meat for vacuum sealing, they didn't include the black bone protector. I had to tell them to do it, and then they did. After all the packing was done, the meat was loaded in bulk bags, with no sticker indicating the cut. They used to do that and created an expectation and impression of quality and professionalism. No one asked me if I wanted it, and even if I had to pay for it, I would have. I left it there. When I paid for the meat, I reported this to an elderly gentleman whom I presume is the owner. He apologised and said he would fix it. Good. I left the shop with the meat. I was about to start my car and leave when the cashier came running and said they didn't charge me for the vacuum bags. Ok, how much I asked. She said R50. I gave R100. A few minutes later, one of the packers came to inform me that it was actually R260. Ok, no worries, I gave him another R200, and he soon returned with my change. I was going to let this go, but when I got home 20 minutes later and started packing the meat in the deep fridge, I found that about half of the vacuum bags had lost their vacuum. So it is here, Mr. Tony Sir, that you have lost a long-time loyal customer. If you do not address these matters, you may soon lose more customers. Regards, Pieter Oberholzer.
