Car mechanic

Hie please help in September 2021 i took my car for a repair and I was charged R20000 to fix the diesel pump and I paid R10000 deposit then after that i was told to pay R4000 because the mechanic didn't have enough money to pay for the pump at the end of the day i ended paying R24000 and in January 2022 he told me that he took my car somewhere else to be fixed and now i don't get any help, please help me
