Pathetic service and untrue advertising

I bought a TomTom watch on 2 November'16. It was delivered on 10 November'16. Charged the watch as recommended, even installed update. I didn't even use all the available items on the watch and to my surprise the watch didn't even last 1 day and a half after a 3-4 days adverti*****t of battery life (whilst using the music player, intervals, HR etc.) FALSE ADVERTISING!!

Of course as a now unhappy customer I sent an email to complain (12 November) 2 days after receiving the watch, no reply! Then I sent a Facebook message (usually reply within minutes) ABSOLUTE LIE, to complain that I either got a reject or a defective watch, no reply.

According to the Consumer Act if I complain within 14 days of purchase I could either have asked for my money back or I could have been given the brand new TomTom watch for the same price I purchased my reject/defect one for!

The real reason I chose this watch was because of the music player and its appealing appearance! Again TomTom falsely advertise as if you do not purchase the wireless earphones (which I did not as I have my own) and use your own compatable ones then the music player does not work properly. Maybe the advertising of the watch itself should actually state this? At this stage I had not even used the music player or the intervals because after one cycling session of an hour my watch was flat, but my own earphones even outlasted the battery life of the watch?!

I then eventually got the contact details for TomTom. Eventually got through after 2 days and the guy told me "sorry this is not a TomTom issue and that I should contact Shop and Ship (where I bought the watch originally and they will need to sort this out"! What a joke. although I listened and well surprise, surprise, left a message with Shop and Ship to contact me and again no response!! So pathetic service from the actual makers of the product and then even worse service from the consultants selling their product!!

I then posted a comment to my wall to find out if there was anyway to actually contact TomTom. A friend of mine actually responded who actually works for TomTom (Back to back Manager) and he tried to sort things out for me. He turned out to be the only one that could even get a minor response for me and organised that my watch be picked up and sent for repairs! What a guy, got to say at least TomTom has one employee actually willing to help.. So thanks to you for everything!!

However I am still unhappy. I know that if it was any other brand, I would either have had a replacement watch sent and not a repair of the watch that doesn't wor****

So lesson learnt, rather spend that little bit of extra money on a brand that you can trust as TomTom does not live up to their name. Had I have known what I know now, I would have just bought an uglier version, paid a little bit more for another brand and carried my phone with me!
