Avoid at all costs
Disappointed service after multiple opportunities to resolve the issues. We were quoted around R2000 for the minor service, I agreed, and they kindly had the car collected from my home and would return it as well. I mentioned a few things I would like them to have a look at on the car, which they did. The two tires and the battery needed to be replaced, the brakes had work done on them and after this the invoice came to R9650 which is far more than the R2000 my wife and I budgeted for, but we made the compromises and cancelled holiday plans to find the money. I paid the invoice in full on the same day I received the car the first time.
Once my car was returned to me, I was not able to personally receive it but within an hour I contacted the serviceman to inform them all the radio buttons and dials stopped working. The radio has never had any problems before, if it did, I would have mentioned they have a look at it for me, like I did with all the other items I had them investigate. I spoke with Willem who said he was surprised by this and asked if they can pick up the car again to investigate. The next day I got a call saying that they don’t understand how this could have happened and are positive that any work they did, did not affect the radio. He suggested they take the car to another business who specializes in older car radios to see if they could find the fault. The next day, I got a call from Willem again saying that the new business found the fault, but parts are not available as the car is 12 years old and he will no longer be assisting with the matter as he believes the radio was broken before the service.
I received the car back (with fuel added due to my car being driven up and down constantly.) and was finally able to do a full inspection and drive the car. The business they had investigate the radio damaged the radio during installation and now the radio does not fit correctly, panel gaps, and panels are lose (They did not question the business that did the work, nor did they inform me about the new damage. They just hoped as always that I didn't notice). The new battery gave the same problems as the old one, my car would shake when starting due to the battery being low. I found a massive scratch on the hood of my car; I called the salesperson to discuss this and he said Willem will be in contact with me. The next day, Willem called to tell me that the faults with my car were there before the service, I asked that they check the cameras for the scratch, and he informed me it would take him too long to review all the footage. They offered a third time to collect the car and investigate the battery only but at this point I was disappointed in their service and didn’t think any different result would come, I would just receive another call saying “They can’t find the fault in their work and I can’t prove anything.”
Obviously, I can’t prove to him that the radio worked perfectly for 12 years nor that my car never had a massive scratch on the hood. Willem was not interested in helping a customer whom he made a large sale on, only moving me along to the next repairer so that he can service the next invoice.
